May 21, 2025

Kona, HI (May 21, 2025) — A startling crash in Kona late Monday morning left two people hospitalized after a pickup truck ended up on top of a sedan in a multi-vehicle collision.

The incident happened around 11 a.m. along the Queen Kaahumanu Highway near Hulikoa Drive. Authorities say the crash involved three vehicles: a pickup truck, an SUV, and a passenger car.

Footage from the scene revealed the striking aftermath, with the truck perched atop the car’s roof. Firefighters rushed to the scene and had to extricate two individuals from the wreckage. Both were transported to a nearby hospital in serious condition.

Officials have not yet released details on the cause of the crash, and an investigation is ongoing.

We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.

Hawaii Traffic Accidents

Traffic collisions in Hawaii can have life-altering consequences, especially when injuries are involved. Every year, countless individuals across the islands endure serious physical and emotional trauma from these crashes. Far too often, reckless or negligent behavior—such as speeding, impaired driving, or texting behind the wheel—is at the heart of these incidents. When drivers fail to prioritize safety, they not only put themselves at risk, but they also endanger the lives of others sharing the road.

The aftermath of a serious crash can be overwhelming. Victims may be left dealing with debilitating injuries like traumatic brain damage, spinal injuries, or broken bones—each requiring extensive medical care, rehabilitation, and time away from work. The emotional toll can be just as heavy, especially when the crash results in permanent harm or the tragic loss of a loved one. In the wake of such events, it’s common for families to feel lost and unsure of how to move forward.

Recovery shouldn’t come with financial uncertainty. If you’ve been injured in a traffic accident caused by someone else’s negligence, you may be entitled to compensation for your medical bills, lost income, and other related expenses.
