Honolulu, HI (May 20, 2025) – According to officers with the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), a fatal motor vehicle collision occurred just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday, May 18, on North Nimitz Highway in the Airport area.
The HPD said that a 66-year-old male driver was traveling eastbound on the highway when he struck a 62-year-old male pedestrian attempting to cross. As a result of the collision, the pedestrian was lying in the roadway when he was then struck a second time by a separate motorist, HPD said.
