Honolulu, HI (May 22, 2025) – A serious pedestrian accident near Daniel K. Inouye International Airport on Tuesday night left a woman critically injured and rushed to the hospital.
At approximately 9:10 p.m. on May 20, emergency responders arrived at the scene near Kamehameha Highway and Elliott Street following reports of a collision involving a pedestrian.
According to the Honolulu Police Department’s Traffic Division, a 52-year-old female driver traveling westbound on North Nimitz Highway struck a 29-year-old woman. After the initial impact left the pedestrian lying in the roadway, she was unfortunately hit again by a second vehicle driven by a 57-year-old man.
The injured pedestrian was promptly transported to a nearby hospital in critical condition.
Both drivers involved, aged 52 and 57, stayed at the scene and were unharmed.
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
