Honolulu, HI – Moped Rider Critically Injured in Crash at McCully & Fern Sts

Honolulu, HI (July 22, 2025) – A 51-year-old moped rider was critically injured on Sunday night, July 20, after a vehicle collided with him in the McCully area, according to Honolulu police.

The crash occurred around 7:55 p.m. at the intersection of McCully Street and Fern Street, where a 37-year-old male motorist was turning left onto Fern Street when his vehicle broadsided the moped traveling in the opposite direction. Police said the moped rider was taken to a hospital in critical condition. The motorist and a juvenile passenger were not injured and remained at the scene. However, witnesses were asked to get in touch with the HPD, and an investigation is ongoing in the interim.
