Two Rescued After House Fire on Gulick Ave in Kalihi, HI

Kalihi, HI (July 7, 2026) – Two people were rescued on Monday afternoon, July 6, after a fire broke out at a home on Gulick Avenue in Kalihi.
Emergency units reached the one-story residence around 12:50 p.m. after reports of smoke and flames coming from the front of the home. Crews searched the property and found two occupants on a lower level.
Firefighters guided both people to safety and also rescued the family’s dogs from the home. They brought the fire under control by about 1:30 p.m. and fully extinguished it ten minutes later.
Emergency Medical Services evaluated the two occupants after firefighters brought them to safety. Damage estimates were not available at the time of publication.
The Honolulu Fire Department continues to investigate the cause of the fire.
