Hit-and-Run Motorcycle Crashes and Witness Evidence in Kapolei, HI
When a motorcyclist is found down with no clear cause, witness accounts and dashcam footage usually become the most important pieces of evidence in determining what happened.
Motorcycle riders face a much higher risk of serious injury than occupants of passenger vehicles, since they lack the protection of a frame or airbags. Common injuries include road rash, fractures, and traumatic brain injuries, even in crashes that might seem minor for a car.
Hawaii is a no-fault state for auto insurance, but a rider seriously hurt in a crash can still step outside the no-fault system and pursue a claim against an at-fault driver once certain injury thresholds are met.
In crashes that involve an unidentified driver, a Kapolei personal injury lawyer can help track down surveillance footage from nearby businesses and coordinate with anyone who has dashcam video before it’s deleted or overwritten.
At Leavitt, Yamane & Soldner, our team can help those injured understand how Hawaii’s no-fault system applies and guide them through the legal process.
