Honolulu, HI – Teen Identified in Fatal Motorcycle Crash at Kolowaka Dr & Fort Weaver Rd

August 26, 2025

Honolulu, HI (August 26, 2025) – On August 25, authorities confirmed the identity of the teenager who tragically died in last week’s motorcycle crash in Ewa Beach. The Honolulu Medical Examiner (ME) identified the victim as 15-year-old Maddex Fiesta of Honolulu.

The crash happened on Wednesday morning, August 20, at the intersection of Kolowaka Drive and Fort Weaver Road. Officials say a 75-year-old man driving a sedan eastbound on Kolowaka struck Fiesta while he was riding an electric motorcycle.

Emergency crews responded immediately. Paramedics provided advanced life support before transporting Fiesta to a nearby hospital. Despite their efforts, he died shortly after arrival. The ME later found the cause of death to be blunt force head trauma.

Authorities also confirmed that a juvenile passenger was in the sedan at the time of the collision. No updates have been released on that individual’s condition.

Investigators closed the roadway for several hours to collect evidence, interview witnesses, and document the crash scene.

The investigation remains ongoing as police work to determine whether speed, distraction, or impairment were factors.

Our hearts go out to Maddex Fiesta’s family and loved ones as they grieve this devastating loss.

Fatal Motorcycle Accidents in Hawaii

Motorcycle crashes continue to claim lives across Honolulu. Without the protection of a car or truck, riders are especially vulnerable, and even minor collisions can result in catastrophic injuries. Tragically, many high-impact crashes end in fatalities, leaving families to cope with sudden and unimaginable loss.

Some of the most common causes of deadly motorcycle accidents include:

  • Impairment: Alcohol or drugs slow reaction times and impair judgment.
  • Distraction: Drivers focusing on phones, GPS devices, or passengers often miss critical moments on the road.
  • Aggressive Driving: Speeding, tailgating, or unsafe lane changes create life-threatening risks for motorcyclists.

The impact of a fatal motorcycle crash extends far beyond the accident itself. Families are left not only grieving the loss of a loved one but also struggling with unexpected financial burdens, such as funeral expenses and the sudden loss of household income. Survivors often face months—or even years—of emotional hardship as they adjust to life without their loved one.

To make matters worse, insurance companies may try to minimize payouts, leaving families without the financial support they urgently need.

That’s why knowing your legal rights is so important. An experienced Honolulu wrongful death lawyer can investigate the crash, gather evidence, speak with witnesses, and handle insurance negotiations on your behalf. With skilled legal representation, you can pursue compensation for funeral costs, medical bills, lost income, and the immense emotional suffering caused by such a devastating loss.
