Injury-Causing Fires in Hawaii
Residential and commercial fires occur frequently in the United States. The National Fire Protection Association reports that more than 350,000 house fires take place each year throughout the country. Approximately 2,600 people are killed per year in these incidents. These fires can happen for numerous reasons; however, cooking fires most often end up causing damage.
Severe burn treatment is almost always a serious financial issue for patients. The average cost that stems from medical bills for someone who was just moderately injured in a fire is somewhere around $200,000.
Additionally, this total does not include the many other financial problems victims may end up facing, including reduced earning capacity, lost wages, numerous surgeries for scarring, and the many support services utilized to assist them in coping with the emotional trauma that may have stemmed from the event. Fires are some of the most traumatic events people can go through.
Gathering full and fair financial compensation for these damages, along with pain, suffering, and more, is, unfortunately, likely to be a difficult task for victims to accomplish on their own, which is why working with an attorney can prove to be very helpful to you during this trying time. An attorney will thoroughly investigate your claim and help you collect the maximum compensation available for your injuries and losses.
