Kahului, HI – Injuries Reported After Crash at Hina Ave & Kamehameha Ave

November 24, 2025

Kahului, HI (November 24, 2025) – On Sunday, November 23, emergency responders were dispatched to a two-vehicle crash with injuries at the intersection of Hina Avenue and Kamehameha Avenue in Kahului.

According to initial reports, the collision left a 61-year-old female with reported injuries. Both vehicles remained in the roadway following the impact, causing traffic delays in the area. Units from the Maui Police Department (MPD) and Maui Fire Department (MFD) responded promptly to assess the scene, provide medical care, and assist with clearing the roadway.

The extent of the woman’s injuries has not yet been released. Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances that led to the crash.

We extend our hopes for a full and swift recovery to the woman injured in this incident.

Compensation After Vehicle Accidents in Maui

Vehicle collisions in Maui can lead to significant physical, emotional, and financial stress for those involved. Understanding what types of compensation may be available can help victims protect their rights and begin the recovery process.

  • Medical expenses: Injured victims may recover the costs of emergency treatment, hospitalization, diagnostic tests, surgeries, medication, physical therapy, and long-term rehabilitation. These expenses can be claimed through insurance or legal action, depending on the circumstances of the crash.
  • Lost wages and reduced earning capacity: When injuries prevent someone from working, compensation may cover lost income during the recovery period. If long-term impairments affect the victim’s ability to return to their previous job or maintain the same earning level, additional damages for reduced earning capacity may be available.
  • Pain and suffering: Beyond physical injuries, victims may experience emotional distress, anxiety, trauma, and diminished quality of life. Compensation for pain and suffering reflects these non-economic impacts and varies based on the severity and long-term effects of the injuries.
  • Property damage: Victims can seek reimbursement for damaged vehicles or personal belongings. This may include repair costs, vehicle replacement, towing, and rental car expenses.
  • Insurance and legal considerations: Hawaii’s insurance laws allow victims to pursue claims through personal injury protection (PIP) benefits, uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage, and, when applicable, claims against the at-fault driver. Because navigating insurance processes can be complex, many victims benefit from working with a Maui car accident lawyer who can gather evidence, evaluate the case, and negotiate fair compensation.
