Honolulu, HI – Severe Injury Crash on Ala Moana Blvd

September 27, 2025

Honolulu, HI (September 27, 2025) – A violent crash on Friday morning, September 26, left at least one person with severe injuries in Honolulu. The collision happened around 6:37 a.m. on Ala Moana Boulevard during the busy morning commute.

According to the Honolulu Police Department, several vehicles collided near the Ala Moana area. The impact crushed one vehicle and trapped its driver inside.

Emergency crews arrived quickly. Firefighters used heavy rescue tools to reach the trapped driver. Paramedics treated the injured driver on the pavement and then rushed the victim to a local hospital for emergency care. Doctors later confirmed the driver suffered severe, life-altering injuries.

Investigators with the Honolulu Police Department spent hours at the scene. They photographed the wrecked vehicles, documented skid marks, and interviewed witnesses to piece together how the crash happened.

Authorities have not confirmed whether speeding, distracted driving, or impairment contributed to the crash. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be released as they become available.

Our hearts go out to the injured driver and their loved ones as they recover.

Car Accidents in Hawaii

Serious car accidents remain one of Hawaii’s most pressing safety concerns. Busy areas like Ala Moana Boulevard see heavy traffic throughout the day, which increases the risk of catastrophic collisions. Friday’s crash shows how a single moment of distraction or reckless driving can change lives forever.

When vehicles collide at high speeds, victims often suffer catastrophic harm. Many experience traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord damage, paralysis, broken bones, or severe internal bleeding. Even when they survive, recovery can take months or years. Patients often endure long hospital stays, multiple surgeries, and months of rehabilitation.

Severe crashes also create financial strain. Medical bills climb quickly while injured victims often cannot work. Families struggle to cover daily expenses, therapy costs, and lost income. Along with physical injuries and financial hardship, many victims experience emotional stress and anxiety as they rebuild their lives.

Insurance companies often rush to offer settlements, but those offers rarely cover long-term needs. Taking an early payout can leave families without enough resources for future treatment or rehabilitation. Working with a skilled Honolulu car accident lawyer can make all the difference.

An attorney investigates the scene, gathers police reports, speaks with witnesses, and builds a strong case against negligent drivers. They negotiate with insurance companies to secure full compensation for medical care, lost income, pain and suffering, and long-term needs.
