Honolulu, HI (May 13, 2025) – A crash closed a portion of Paki Avenue along Kapiolani Park for about two hours Monday afternoon, May 12. The closure was first reported at 1:55 p.m.
Police stated that one of the cars involved tried to make a U-turn before hitting the other vehicle. Paki Avenue was closed in both directions between the Diamond Head tennis courts and Noela Street until just before 3:30 p.m. One driver fled the scene, while the other was assessed for unknown injuries by EMTs. In the interim, HPD detectives are handling the current investigation, and they have encouraged any witnesses to come forward.
