Honolulu, HI – 67-Year-Old Man Injured in Pedestrian Crash at Lanakila Ave & N Kuakini St

November 6, 2025

Honolulu, HI (November 6, 2025) – A 67-year-old man suffered life-threatening injuries after a vehicle struck him on Wednesday morning, November 5, in the Liliha neighborhood of Honolulu.

The crash occurred around 8:00 a.m. near the intersection of Lanakila Avenue and North Kuakini Street, according to the Honolulu Police Department. Witnesses said the man was crossing the street when a car traveling through the intersection hit him with devastating force, throwing him onto the roadway.

Emergency Medical Services arrived within minutes and found the man with multiple severe injuries. Paramedics treated him at the scene before rushing him to a nearby hospital for emergency care. He sustained head and body trauma and remains in serious condition.

Police temporarily closed one lane of Lanakila Avenue while first responders assisted the victim and investigators collected evidence. The Honolulu Police Department said officers are still determining what caused the crash and are reviewing whether speeding, distraction, or failure to yield contributed to the collision.

Authorities have not released additional details about the driver. The investigation remains ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured man and his family, and we wish him a full recovery.
