Auto Accident Data in Hawaii
Car accidents can present significant challenges. Unfortunately, hundreds of collisions are reported monthly in Hawaii. The implications of these accidents go beyond mere property damage. Those involved may endure severe injuries like broken bones or traumatic brain injuries, necessitating extensive medical care and rehabilitation. The emotional strain on victims should not be overlooked; coping with physical pain while managing legal matters can be overwhelming.
Following a motor vehicle accident, injured individuals have the option to file claims against the responsible parties. In Hawaii, the laws of comparative negligence typically govern the recovery process for all involved. According to this law, each driver involved in the accident is assigned a percentage indicating the level of fault they bear for the incident. This allocation can impact the total compensation awarded post-accident.
These accidents typically take place at busy intersections and result in various injuries depending on where the vehicle was struck. What’s more, the impact of the collision can cause the vehicles to spin or roll over, and the occupants can be thrown from the vehicles. Multi-vehicle collisions can result in a variety of injuries, including:
- Head and neck injuries
- Pelvic injuries
- Leg injuries
- Chest injuries
- Abdominal injuries
These accidents can lead to a range of injuries, from herniated or bulging discs, fractures, traumatic brain injuries, and spinal cord injuries to severe burns, paralysis, and amputations. Such injuries’ physical, emotional, and financial toll can be overwhelming.
