Waipahu, HI (August 30, 2026) – A 54-year-old woman was hospitalized in critical condition after a hit-and-run collision on the H-1 Freeway in Waipahu shortly after midnight on Sunday, August 30.
The Honolulu Police Department reported that an unidentified eastbound driver traveled onto the right shoulder at about 1:00 a.m. and rear-ended a car parked there. The driver continued onto the Pearl City off-ramp without stopping to provide information or aid.
The woman was a rear passenger in the parked car. Honolulu Emergency Medical Services took her to a nearby hospital, where she was listed in critical condition.
The Honolulu Police Department is investigating the hit-and-run crash.
