Waipahu, HI – Cyclist Seriously Hurt in Hit-&-Run at Kamehameha Hwy & Waipio Uka St

Waipahu, HI (December 29, 2022) – On Tuesday, December 27, a cyclist was seriously injured following a hit-and-run crash in the Waipahu area. 

At around 3:59 a.m., the accident was reported on Kamehameha Highway near Waipio Uka Street. A 47-year-old adult male bicyclist was headed southbound on the highway when he was hit head-on by a northbound motorist. The driver made a U-turn and fled the scene without providing aid to the injured party. 

The injured rider was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment of serious injuries. No other information has been provided at this time. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the accident is underway.
