Waimea, HI – Two-Car Crash on Daniel K. Inouye Hwy Ends in Injuries

Waimea, HI (November 30, 2022) – A two-car accident happened on a highway in Hawaii County late on Tuesday, November 29. Six people sustained injuries in the collision, with two requiring transportation to a local hospital. 

The incident occurred shortly after 9:00 p.m. near milepost 44 on the Daniel K. Inouye Highway. Investigators stated that one vehicle was idled on the highway’s shoulder when it attempted to pull back onto the roadway. 

As it attempted to pull out, the vehicle was hit by another car that was traveling down the highway. The vehicles that the injured victims were in at the time of the collision were not reported. 

Paramedics treated those with injuries on-site and transported those in need of further care to local hospitals by ambulance. 

We hope for the full recovery of the injured victims.
