Hawaii Car Crashes

Every day in the United States, over 17,000 auto accidents are reported. These accidents injure over 7,500 people and take over 100 lives. Yearly, the country sees over 6 million vehicle collisions that injure over 3 million people and end the lives of about 40,000. In Hawaii, there are a reported 10,000 car accidents per year, or about 30 per day. Car crashes have become a leading cause of death in America due to the actions of negligent drivers. In the past ten years, driver distraction has become the most common type of driver negligence seen in the US, causing over 400,000 traffic collisions per year.

Dangerous road conditions, vehicle problems, and driver error are the most common factors that contribute to car crashes in the United States and throughout the state of Hawaii. However, negligent driving is the main cause, causing over 90% of reported auto collisions every single year. Drivers who choose to pay attention to their phones or anything other than the roadway while behind the wheel put themselves and everyone else on the roadway at risk of severe injuries or even death every time they divert their attention from the road in front of them.

Sustaining serious injuries in an auto accident can be a devastating experience. Depending on the severity of your injuries, you may be stuck in the hospital for a long time, unable to work and make a living or see your friends and family. You may become depressed, anxious, or even experience extreme emotional consequences like PTSD due to experiencing such a traumatizing event.
