Hawaii Auto Accidents

Waikiki, HI - Auto Crash on Kalakaua Ave near Waikiki Shopping Plaza Ends in InjuriesEvery year, the state of Hawaii sees approximately 10,000 serious auto accidents. Daily, the state sees about 30 car crashes that end in injuries. Throughout the country, car wrecks are a leading cause of serious injuries and fatalities. Among individuals ages 15-20, auto crashes are a leading cause of injuries and death. Over 6 million vehicle collisions take place in the United States per year which injure about 3 million people. Sadly, over 40,000 people are killed in these wrecks annually.

Most auto accidents happen due to the actions of negligent drivers. This means that a large percentage of American drivers act recklessly while behind the wheel and fail to exercise reasonable caution in their driving behavior. For example, a negligent driver may have overlooked a stop sign and collided with your vehicle, causing you to become injured. In a situation like this, it is best to contact an attorney who can help you prove your innocence in the crash and your entitlement to financial compensation.

Negligence can be displayed in numerous ways by drivers. Failing to follow driving signs and lights is a dangerous form of driver negligence. Another dangerous form of driver negligence is when drivers fail to look at the roadway and instead check their phones for texts, emails, etc. Additionally, thousands of people decide to get behind the wheel while drunk, high, or otherwise intoxicated. Driver intoxication is perhaps one of the most dangerous forms of driver negligence. When someone is hurt due to the actions of a negligent party, the injured party and/or their family may qualify for financial compensation for damages.

You may suffer a great deal once you’ve been hurt in a car wreck caused by driver negligence. Not only may you be facing painful consequences, but you may also be worried about the costs related to your injuries, like the cost of hospitalization, prescription drugs, physical therapy, and more. Dealing with all of this by yourself can be stressful and overwhelming.

If the actions of a negligent driver caused you to become injured, you can file a personal injury claim with a lawyer.  A personal injury lawyer in Honolulu can help you collect compensation for costs related to your medical care. Wage loss related to being stuck in the hospital, as well as vehicle repairs and other costs, can pile up quickly. Financial compensation can help you pay for these costs and others that stem from your crash.
