Wahiawa, HI – Two Injured in Motorcycle Crash Kamehameha Hwy

November 11, 2022

Wahiawa, HI (November 11, 2022) – Honolulu police were dispatched to the scene of a motorcycle crash in Wahiawa on Thursday, November 10th which left two people with injuries.

The collision took place at about 2:30 p.m. on Kamehameha Highway in the area of Wilikina Drive.

Officers from the Honolulu Police Department said that a black Harley Davidson motorcycle was heading southbound along Kamehameha Highway when the operator, a 34-year-old man, ignored a red light at the intersection of Wilikina Drive and collided with a gray Jeep as it was attempting to make a lefthand turn.

Officials said the driver of the Jeep, a 27-year-old local, was hospitalized with non-critical injuries.

In the meantime, Emergency Medical Services reported that the motorcyclist sustained extensive injuries and was taken by ambulance to a nearby hospital in critical condition.

Police did confirm that the rider was wearing his helmet at the time of the incident.

The HPD indicated that speed is not thought to be a factor in the motorcycle crash but is still looking into whether or not drugs or alcohol were involved.

The section of Kamehameha Highway between Wilikina Drive and Ohai Street was closed down but has since been reopened.

The investigation into the accident is ongoing.

Our thoughts are with the injured victims and their families at this time. We hope for their full recovery.
