Princeville, HI – Pedestrian Dies During Vehicle Crash on Kuhio Hwy

Princeville, HI (September 14, 2022) – On Monday, September 12th, the Kauai Police Department was called to the scene of a fatal accident on Kuhio Highway in Princeville. 

According to sources, the incident took place at about 7:40 p.m. on the northbound side of the highway by the Kapaka Street intersection, in the area of Princeville Botanical Gardens, when a man walking alongside the roadway was hit by a car driven by a 49-year-old woman from Kilauea. 

Impairment and speeding have been ruled out as factors in the collision, which remains under police investigation.
