Police say he was in an SUV traveling north on the H2 Freeway when it drifted off of the road and hit the center guard rail, flipping several times before coming to a stop in the southbound portion of the freeway. Three people were in the vehicle, all of whom were thrown.
They were all taken to the hospital in critical condition. One passenger later died. Police believe speed and alcohol played a role in this crash.
