Hawaii Auto Collisions
In the United States, more than 40,000 individuals are killed yearly in car accidents. Most car accidents are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Especially in the past ten years, driver negligence has risen to the top of the list of reasons Americans sustain severe or even fatal injuries. This is most likely because the majority of people cannot go even a few moments without checking their social media accounts and/or text messages, emails, and other things on their phones. Even if they are operating a vehicle on a busy roadway, some drivers still feel the need to avert their eyes from the roadway to their cell phone screens, risking their own lives and the lives of those around them.
Based on the most recent statistics, Hawaii’s auto accident rate is expected to rise in 2023. Intersections and highways are the most common sites of auto collisions in the Aloha state. In 2023, cyclists, pedestrians and motorcyclists will also face increased risks.
When a car crash occurs due to driver negligence, anyone who is hurt in that crash may be able to collect financial compensation for a plethora of damages. If the worst has happened, and someone has lost their life, their family members are able to file a wrongful death claim for financial compensation as well.
It is important for drivers to maintain a safe distance between cars as well as to maintain a safe speed in order to preserve their safety and that of those around them. Seatbelts should be worn by all vehicle occupants and distractions should be minimized while driving.
Being hurt in a car crash can have severe consequences. As a result of an accident, families may be burdened with medical costs while their loved ones suffer emotional and physical pain. It’s important for families to know that they may have legal rights and options that can help them recover from their injuries and losses.
Support for a loved one is integral in the aftermath of an auto accident injury. A car crash lawyer can help a crash victim recover compensation for lost wages, lost earning capacity, and property damage, and more.
