Maui, HI (May 24, 2024) – A two-vehicle accident reported in the Maui area resulted in injuries on Friday morning, May 24, per officers with the Maui Police Department.

According to local officers, calls for assistance came in at around 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Officers with the MPD, area firefighters, and Maui emergency medical services also reported to the scene, which was located on Makawao Avenue near Baldwin Avenue. The incident blocked the juncture, and Engine 5 responded with the MPD to assess the site.

Emergency medical services provided treatment to victims who were injured in the crash. The total number of people who required further medical care or transport to a local hospital is still unknown. At this time, officials are investigating the incident and have not provided specific details about those involved. Any witnesses with additional information were asked to get in touch with the MPD.
