Hawaii Pedestrian Collisions

When an area is used frequently by both drivers and pedestrians, the odds of a pedestrian being hit by a vehicle increase dramatically. It only takes a single reckless or negligent driver to critically injure or even end the life of a pedestrian.

Even though a very small percentage of pedestrian-involved accidents are committed with malice, most of them are the result of everyday driver negligence.

The most common forms of driver negligence in Hawaii include the following:

  • Speeding
  • Driving while under the influence
  • Distracted drivers
  • Disregarding traffic signs or other driving laws
  • Failing to yield at crosswalks
  • Lack of turn signals
  • Failing to drive appropriately in bad weather
  • Failing to show due care when children are present

Regardless of the circumstances surrounding the incident, we know the most effective means of proving that the driver was at fault for the victim’s damages.
