Maui, HI – Pedestrian Hit by Vehicle, Injured near Ma’alaea Shops, Kapoli St

Maui, HI (July 18, 2023) – A pedestrian crash happened in Maui on the morning of July 18. At around 7:00 a.m., emergency crews went to the crash scene to help the injured victim and determine the cause of the incident. 

Reports from local sources show the crash occurred near Kapoli Street and the parking lot for the Ma’alaea Shops in Ma’alaea, Maui. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle for reasons still under police investigation. 

Medics helped the injured pedestrian at the crash site and transported them to the hospital. They were reportedly conscious and aware at the scene but suffering from substantial injuries. 

The name of the injured victim has not been reported at this time. 

Police in Maui continue to investigate the details of the accident.
