Maui, HI – One Killed in Pedestrian Crash on Hana Hwy near Hansen Rd

Maui, HI (September 23, 2023) – On the evening of September 21, Thursday, a fatal pedestrian accident took one life in Maui. Responders went to the crash site to help those involved shortly after it occurred.
Reports show the incident took place on the Hana Highway near Hansen Road in Kahului. Preliminary investigations show that a white 1995 Chevrolet Camaro was headed south when it crashed into a pedestrian who was walking south on the shoulder.
The pedestrian, identified as a male, age 24, from Kula, was fatally injured and pronounced deceased at the crash site. The Chevrolet’s driver was arrested and charged in connection with the accident.
