Hawaii Car Accidents

Approximately 1.4 million people live in Hawaii, so it is not hard to believe that thousands of auto collisions happen per year in the Aloha State. Sadly, a large percentage of these crashes end in injuries, and some take the lives of those involved. In the United States, car accidents are the leading cause of death among individuals. Over 40,000 Americans lose their lives per year due to car crashes.

Yearly, over 3 million people suffer injuries in traffic collisions in the United States. In Hawaii, around 20,000 people suffer injuries in auto collisions per year. Regrettably, the majority of these wrecks are caused by the actions of negligent drivers.

Driver negligence comes in numerous forms, including fatigue, intoxication, speeding, and distraction. Distraction is the most common type of negligence seen among American drivers, causing over 400,000 collisions each year and ending around 3,000 lives. These numbers are comparable to the number of accidents and crash fatalities seen in the entire state of California on a yearly basis. Additionally, driver intoxication is the reason behind over 30% of fatal accidents in the United States. These statistics show that driver negligence is a problematic issue that needs to be addressed in America today.
