Maui, HI – Hana Hwy Scene of Auto Collision with Injuries near Old Haleakala Hwy

Maui, HI (September 29, 2023) – On the night of September 29, a car accident was reported to police in Maui that ended in injuries. Responders were sent to the scene shortly after the collision occurred to render aid to the injured victims and determine the cause of the crash. 

Reports from authorities show the collision occurred on the Hana Highway near the Old Haleakala Highway in Kahului. Two cars collided and injured the people involved. 

EMTs helped the injured victims and transported them to the hospital for further care. The names of those involved have not been reported at this time. 

Crews remained at the scene for an extended period of time, causing local drivers to have to use different routes of travel. Police in Maui are still working to investigate the details of the collision.
