Makawao, HI (October 18, 2023) – At around 3:25 p.m. on October 17, officers with the Maui Police Department received a request for aid at the scene of an automobile collision that took place in Makawao.

According to law enforcement, a collision blocked multiple lanes of travel on Iki Drive during the afternoon hours.

The incident prompted the response of the police in the Maui Fire Department.

Police and firefighters worked to remove damaged vehicles from the roadway as medics provided care to those harmed. The injured parties were transported to local medical facilities, where they were provided further aid for their injuries.

The police department is investigating.
