How Traffic Camera Footage Can Support a Case in Waikele, HI

Traffic cameras can capture valuable details in the moments before and after a roadway case, including vehicle positioning, speed, and how quickly lanes reopened. That footage is not always kept indefinitely, and requesting it early can make a meaningful difference in a later claim.

Hawaii law gives injured drivers and passengers a limited window to bring a personal injury claim, generally two years from the date the injury occurred.

Additionally, Hawaii follows a modified comparative negligence rule. This means a person can recover damages as long as they are not more at fault than the other party involved. Fault can be difficult to establish on a busy highway, so supporting evidence such as camera footage, witness accounts, or a police report can play a significant role.

In these cases, a Waikele car accident lawyer can help request this type of evidence promptly and evaluate how it may support a claim.

At Leavitt, Yamane & Soldner, we have helped drivers and passengers gather evidence after roadway cases across Hawaii. If you have been involved in one, we can help you sort through the next key steps you could take to preserve your evidence.
