Hawaii Car Accidents
Every day in the United States, over 17,000 auto collisions are reported. These accidents end in injuries for more than 7,500 people and take the lives of hundreds per day. Per year, the US sees over 6 million auto accidents that cause injuries to approximately 3 million and take the lives of about 40,000 annually.
In Hawaii, there are around 10,000 auto collisions per year, or approximately 30 each day. Auto collisions have become one of the top reasons Americans lose their lives, mostly those that happen due to driver negligence. In the past ten years, driver distraction has become the most prevalent form of negligent driving in the US, causing hundreds of thousands of collisions per year.
Car problems, hazardous road conditions, and driver negligence are the most common causes of auto collisions in the US and throughout the islands of Hawaii. However, negligent driving is the most prevalent action, causing more than 92% of reported auto collisions each year. Drivers who choose to allow their attention to be diverted from the road risk their own lives and put those around them at severe risk of sustaining injuries or even losing their lives.
