June 6, 2022

Kaneohe, HI (June 05, 2022) – A man is in the hospital in critical condition due to injuries he sustained when a vehicle ran into the back of his truck on Friday, June 3rd in Kaneohe.

The crash occurred at about 11:30 a.m. when a man was traveling eastbound on the H3 Freeway when the vehicle in front of him came to a sudden stop. This caused the driver to lock up his brakes as he swerved to the right and crashed into the bed of another pick-up truck with a 59-year-old man in its bed.

The man in the truck bed was transported by paramedics to an area trauma center with critical injuries.

Police said drugs, speed, and alcohol have been ruled out as factors.

We would like to offer our deepest condolences to the family of the deceased victim at this time.
