Kalihi, HI – Pedestrian Critical After Being Struck by Driver at Alakawa St and Nimitz Hwy

Kalihi, HI (September 19, 2022) – The Honolulu Police Department responded to the intersection of Nimitz Highway and Alakawa Street for reports of a motor vehicle collision on Saturday, September 17th.
Upon their arrival at about 11:00 p.m., Emergency Medical Services discovered that a pedestrian had been struck by a car.
Police said he sustained injuries to his torso and head.
Paramedics rendered life-saving aid to the patient, identified only as a 43-year-old male, who was then taken to the hospital in critical condition.
The speed of the striking vehicle is being investigated.
