Vehicle Accidents in Hawaii
Motorcycle and moped accidents happen all too often throughout the United States and on the island of Hawaii. Due to its fantastic weather and beautiful scenery, such modes of transportation are popular in the Aloha State. Those who end up involved in accidents, however, are often more seriously hurt than those involved in other types of collisions. Little to no protection between themselves and the force of impact is often the cause.
Furthermore, many moped accidents are triggered by driver recklessness. At least half of the reported moped crashes in the country, in fact, are caused by the actions of distracted, intoxicated, speeding, or fatigued drivers. The most common type of reckless act that contributes to moped accidents in the U.S. is failure to yield the right of way, and common injuries from these types of collisions include:
- Bone breaks/Bone Fractures
- Traumatic Brain Injury
- Disc Injury/Disc Herniation
- Damage to the spine
- Death
Extreme non-economic damages and catastrophic economic losses are frequently caused by devastating injuries. The financial ramifications of a moped accident can be utterly catastrophic to accident victims and their families, from medical expenses to missed wages to excruciating agony and suffering. If you or a loved one was harmed in a moped accident in Hawaii, you should think about what happened because if a negligent driver was to blame, you most likely have legal recourse that can aid in your recovery.
It’s important to deal with the financial effects of a moped accident as quickly as possible. Bills mounting up while you’re detained in the hospital and unable to work can be frustrating and daunting. You might be qualified to obtain compensation for your losses.
