Kalihi, HI (October 26, 2023) – At least one person was transported to a local hospital for the treatment of injuries following an automobile accident that occurred on Wednesday morning in the Kalihi area.

The crash was reported to the Honolulu Police Department at around 6:10 a.m. on October 25.

Honolulu police reports show that vehicles collided in the zip lane of Nimitz Highway in the area near Mokauea Street. The incident blocked several lanes of the road, prompting officials to shut down the area.

A tow truck responded to the scene to remove the damaged vehicles from the eastbound lanes of travel.

Paramedics responded to the scene to care for injured victims and transport them to area hospitals.

The crash is currently being investigated by the Honolulu Police Department.
