Hawaii Auto Accidents
Car accidents happen about 30 times per day in Hawaii. Per year, there are a reported 10,000 vehicle accidents in the Aloha State. Car crashes are a leading cause of serious personal injuries and fatalities in the United States. Each year, over 6 million vehicle collisions are reported throughout the country that cause injuries to more than 3 million people. Over 2 million people end up in the emergency room with serious injuries due to these accidents. Sadly, close to 40,000 people lose their lives in traffic collisions in the United States yearly.
Alarmingly, the majority of the auto accidents reported throughout the country are caused by the actions of negligent drivers. Driver negligence has become a serious and persistent issue in the United States throughout the past ten years. This is most likely because cell phones have taken the center stage in people’s lives. It is impossible to go anywhere without seeing at least a few people with their heads down and eyes on their cell phone screens, not paying attention to anyone or anything around them. Amazingly, people engage in this distracting behavior while behind the wheels of moving vehicles, causing hundreds of thousands of auto accidents per year.
Reports concerning negligent driving in the US show that over 400,000 car accidents are caused by the actions of distracted drivers per year. The number only continues to rise. Sadly, over 3,000 people are killed annually in these collisions. Other types of driver negligence include intoxication, speeding, and fatigue, as well as failing to obey traffic signs and signals.
