Hawaii Pedestrian Accidents
When an area is frequented by both drivers and pedestrians, the chances of a pedestrian crash dramatically increase. It only takes one negligent, reckless, or careless driver to cause a pedestrian to become critically injured or even lose their life.
Despite the fact that a small percentage of pedestrian crashes are purposely committed, the majority of them happen due to the actions of negligent drivers.
The most common types of negligence in Hawaii include:
- Disregarding traffic signals/driving laws
- Failing to yield to pedestrians
- Failing to use turn signals
- Failing to drive safely in inclement weather
- Failing to show due care when children are present
Regardless of the circumstances that stem from your crash, we know the most effective means of proving that a negligent party caused it to occur. It is important to remember that if you have even a slight portion of fault attributed to you in the cause of the accident, the driver who hit you may only be expected to pay partial financial compensation for your crash-related losses.
If you’ve lost someone you love in a negligently caused pedestrian accident, a wrongful death attorney can help you collect compensation to pay for the damages that resulted from your loved one’s accident. Though we know that no price can be placed on the immense loss you may be facing, financial compensation can help cover the costs related to funeral care, burial costs, outstanding medical bills, lost wages, and more.
