Pedestrian Injuries in Hawaii

Kahului, HI - Driver Strikes, Critically Injures Pedestrian on Hāna Hwy

Hawaii is a famous destination for tourists from all over the world. Unfortunately, this causes them to experience more than their fair share of pedestrian accidents.

When any location is used heavily by both pedestrians and motor vehicles, the odds of a pedestrian being struck are considerably greater. It takes just a single reckless driver to critically injure or kill a pedestrian.

In order to proceed with your pedestrian injury case, you will be required to prove that the driver that struck you was negligent or malicious in their actions. Our law firm has decades of combined experience seeing successful outcomes to pedestrian accident claims, so our attorneys have first-hand knowledge of what is needed to establish fault for an accident.

Regardless of the circumstances leading up to your accident, we know how to effectively demonstrate that another individual was responsible. With our meticulous gathering of documentation, comprehensive investigation, detailed witness testimonies, and rational arguments, we will do everything in our power to make sure you get the financial award you deserve.

Even though a very tiny percentage of pedestrian injuries are intentionally inflicted by drivers, most of them are the result of simple driver negligence. The most common kinds of negligent drivers in Hawaii include:

  • Drivers exceeding the posted speed limit
  • Drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs
  • Drivers who are not paying attention
  • Drivers who ignore traffic lights or signage
  • Drivers who do not yield at crosswalks
  • Drivers who fail to use their blinkers
  • Drivers who do not take appropriate precautions in inclement weather
  • Drivers who neglect to use due care in areas where children are likely to be

It is vital to keep in mind that if you, as a pedestrian, have even the smallest portion of fault assigned to you, the driver that hit you may only be required to compensate you for some of your medical expenses.
