Hawaii Car Crashes
Though Hawaii is known as a beautiful island paradise, it is no stranger to traffic collisions. Like any other state in the United States, Hawaii sees tens of thousands of crashes per year that can potentially end in injuries and even fatalities.
In one recent year, more than 10,000 people were hurt in car crashes across the Aloha State. Sadly, hundreds lose their lives in Hawaii car accidents each year. Across the US, more than six million car crashes happen per year, or around 17,000 per day. Auto accidents in Hawaii and throughout the United States happen for a long list of reasons. One of the most common contributing factors to car wrecks in Hawaii today is driver distraction. Speeding, intoxication, and fatigue also contribute to auto accidents in Hawaii.
Each year, more than 400,000 car crashes happen across the state due to driver distraction. Additionally, speeding takes the lives of more than 11,000 people per year, and intoxication takes around 12,000 lives yearly. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that over 90% of car crashes in the US are caused by driver negligence.
