Car Accidents in Hawaii

Honolulu, HI - Two-Vehicle Crash With Injuries on I-H1 Near Airport

When someone behind the wheel of an object that has the power to kill is careless, irresponsible or distracted for even a second, the chances of them killing an innocent victim or leaving a victim with critical injuries are quite high.

Some motor vehicle collisions are caused by a single outside influence over which neither driver has control. It is far more likely, however, for a car crash to be the result of several different factors that come together into a single, terrifying event.

While it is true that, once in a blue moon, no one is at fault for a vehicle accident, an overwhelming number of serious car accidents are caused by negligent actions committed by one or both drivers.

Some common forms of negligence that often lead to serious auto crashes include:

  • Inattentive drivers, such as those reading text messages and making telephone calls
  • Drives who are under the influence of drugs or alcohol
  • Drivers who are aggressive or reckless
  • Vehicles that are poorly maintained
  • Roadways and intersections that are badly designed

These and numerous other forms of negligence put thousands of innocent people in harm’s way each and every day, including joggers, bicyclists, pedestrians, children, and even other motorists and their passengers.

A vehicle accident lawyer in Honolulu who has decades of experience in understanding and working with Hawaii’s state-specific laws and statutes can offer you reliable advice on the most pragmatic way to obtain the financial compensation you deserve following a serious car crash.

Our Hawaii personal injury lawyers have ample experience in dealing with these types of cases and are prepared to guide you and your family through the legal process.

It is important to note that the state of Hawaii abides by no-fault car insurance laws. This means that, generally speaking, injured parties will have to file a claim with their own insurance company for repayment of their medical costs no matter how the accident happened.

If a motor vehicle accident left you with serious injuries and significant medical expenses that equal $5,000 or more or left you with a permanent disability or disfigurement, you may be eligible to pursue compensation from the driver who caused them.
