Hawaii Car Crashes

In Hawaii, tens of thousands of car crashes happen each and every year. These crashes happen for many different reasons; however, driver negligence is the main cause. In fact, throughout the entire United States, over 94% of car accidents happen due to the actions of negligent drivers.

Negligent driving has been on the rise, especially in the past decade. This is most likely due to the increasing popularity and use of smartphones. Individuals think that it is OK to glance at their phones while behind the wheels of moving vehicles. This is never safe, and it is a selfish, dangerous act that can lead to serious accidents and injuries, and even death.

For example, distracted driving causes over 400,000 vehicle accidents per year throughout the country. Sadly, more than 3,000 people lose their lives annually because of distracted drivers. Additionally, speeding, intoxication, and fatigue all contribute to the national accident fatality rate and makeup over 75% of it.
