Hawaii Pedestrian Accidents
Pedestrian accidents can happen for a number of different reasons. However, more than half the time, drivers are at fault for not paying close enough attention. Driver distraction is on the rise across the United States, causing over 400,000 traffic collisions per year. A percentage of these collisions involve pedestrians who sustain serious or even fatal injuries. Also, in the past decade, pedestrian crashes have risen by over 55% in the US. This is most likely due to the increased number of distracted and otherwise negligent drivers on our roadways.
Drunk or speeding drivers who hit pedestrians in or near the roadway will be held liable for the damages caused by the accident. Pedestrians are often able to collect full and fair financial compensation for medical care, vehicle repairs, wage loss, and more when they are hurt by the actions of negligent drivers.
