Honolulu, HI (October 28, 2023) – A pedestrian was hospitalized as a result of an automobile accident that occurred near Nuuanu on Friday morning, October 27.
At around 5:40 a.m., officers with the Honolulu Police Department were called to the site of a collision on Kuakini Street.
Reports from authorities show that a 57-year-old female pedestrian was struck by a garbage truck during the morning hours. Authorities arrived at the scene and closed off a portion of Kuakini Street near Bachelot Street.
The woman sustained severe injuries in the crash. She was rushed by ambulance to a local hospital, where she was admitted in critical condition.
The incident is currently being investigated.
