Honolulu, HI – Pedestrian Critically Injured in Hit & Run Crash on H-3 Fwy

Honolulu, HI (May 8, 2023) – Authorities in Honolulu are currently investigating the details of a collision that occurred on Friday, May 5, in the area of Kaneohe. The incident occurred at approximately 8:20 p.m. when a pedestrian was struck by a hit-and-run driver.
Officials report the crash occured in the westbound lanes of the H-3 Freeway when a motorist crashed into a 20-year-old female pedestrian who was standing on the left shoulder checking a stalled motorcycle.
Police report the pedestrian was taken by EMS to a local hospital in critical condition. The driver did not stop at the scene and continued driving west on the H-3 Freeway. They were possibly traveling in a black sedan.
No other information has been reported concerning the accident.
