Honolulu, HI (September 14, 2023) – Police in Honolulu are investigating a collision that occurred in the University area on Monday night, September 11. Responders went to the crash scene at around 6:00 p.m. after being notified of the incident. 

Officials say the accident happened on Waialae Avenue when a vehicle was traveling west. It hit an 81-year-old man who was trying to cross the street, sources said. 

Police say the man suffered critical injuries in the accident and was promptly transported to the hospital for treatment. His name has not been reported. 

Authorities in Honolulu continue to investigate the circumstances of the accident.
