Honolulu, HI – One Killed in Auto Accident at Prospect St & Alapai St

Honolulu, HI (January 28, 2023) – Police in Honolulu are investigating a deadly accident that happened in Makiki on Saturday. In the early morning hours of January 28, the fatal collision happened on Prospect Street. 

At approximately 2:30 a.m., two SUVs collided at the intersection of Prospect Street and Alapai Street. Information provided by the Honolulu Fire Department shows that one SUV slammed into a tree after losing control. What caused the two vehicles to collide remains under police investigation at this time. 

The driver of the vehicle that struck the tree lost their life at the scene. The other involved driver was able to exit their vehicle before emergency responders arrived. 

Neither involved individual has been identified at this time. Authorities in Honolulu continue to investigate the details of the accident.
