Honolulu, HI – One Hospitalized in Pedestrian Crash on Ainaloa Blvd

Honolulu, HI (August 5, 2024) – Hawaii Island police are investigating a crash that left a pedestrian in critical condition on Monday, August 5. Police were called to the scene just before 6:00 a.m. after learning a female pedestrian had been struck by a pickup truck on Ainaloa Boulevard in Pahoa.

The woman was reportedly crossing the road around that time, police added. After being found unresponsive at the scene, she was transported to Hilo Benioff Medical Center, where she remains in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing, however, and no further details have been released in the interim.
