Honolulu, HI – Multi-Vehicle Accident Causes Injuries on Lahaina Bypass Rd

September 8, 2023

Honolulu, HI (September 8, 2023) – Emergency responders were dispatched to a car crash on a roadway in Honolulu on Friday morning, September 8. The incident prompted police with the Maui Police Department, fire crews, and American Medical Response personnel to respond to the scene.

When crews arrived at the wreck site on Lahaina Bypass Road, they found three vehicles that had been involved in a collision. At least one person suffered injuries in the accident.

Paramedics treated those with injuries and loaded them into ambulances as necessary. Currently, the identities of the injured victims remain unknown as police continue to investigate.

Police directed traffic away from the crash site while emergency personnel worked in the area, resulting in significant delays. Authorities in Honolulu are working to figure out how the incident occurred.

Our thoughts are with everyone involved in this auto collision in Honolulu as we hope for their full recovery.

Hawaii Auto Collisions

The Island of Hawaii is occupied by approximately 1.4 million people, so it is not surprising that thousands of traffic collisions take place per year in the Aloha State, and over 10,000 of these collisions end in injuries.

Car crashes are some of the most common reasons individuals in the United States become injured or lose their lives. Each year, over 3 million individuals suffer injuries in car accidents throughout the US. In Hawaii, tens of thousands of people are hurt in car crashes every year. Unfortunately, most of these accidents are caused by the actions of negligent drivers.

Driver negligence may be displayed in numerous ways, including distraction, intoxication, and fatigue. Each year, over 400,000 car crashes happen due to the actions of distracted drivers. Additionally, driver intoxication is the reason behind over 30% of fatal accidents in the United States.
