Honolulu, HI – Man Killed in Rollover at HI-72 & Hanauma Bay Rd

Honolulu, HI (December 28, 2022) – An elderly man was killed, and an elderly woman suffered serious injuries after a single-vehicle accident in Honolulu on Monday, December 26. 

The deadly crash took place on HI-72 near Hanauma Bay Road at around 7:40 p.m. A woman was driving a vehicle when she lost control and hit a guardrail. The car overturned several times. An 84-year-old man riding in the vehicle sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

The 79-year-old woman driving the car suffered serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital for aid. Speed may have been a factor in the accident. 

An ongoing investigation into the cause of the deadly crash is in progress.
