Honolulu, HI – Man Hospitalized After Moped Accident at S King St & Elsie Ln

Honolulu, HI (October 1, 2024) – According to officers with the Honolulu Police Department (HPD), a 64-year-old man suffered serious facial injuries after being involved in a crash with an SUV while on a motorized, stand-up scooter on South King Street on Monday, September 30.

Per Honolulu Emergency Medical Services, EMS units responded to the site at South King Street and Elsie Lane at about 11:45 a.m. Paramedics treated the man, who suffered multiple severe facial injuries and transported him to a trauma hospital in serious condition. He was said to be wearing a helmet.

No other individuals were treated at the scene, but no further information was available. However, local law enforcement authorities are investigating the crash, and the HPD is asking anyone with information about the incident to contact the Traffic Division.
